"The liner notes state that I was heavily influenced by Larry Graham of Sly & the Family Stone. This is wildly innacurate. It was the Band's Rick Danko, the geezer in Neil Young's Crazy Horse albums and Fairport's Leige & Leif albums that I was trying to get to grips with. Larry Graham was way out of my league though I did manage to introduce his style to a blues band that I formed in later (much later) times."
